about us...
Petersfield Youth Theatre was founded in 1990. We are a registered charity working to advance the education in music and theatrical arts amongst children and young people aged 5 - 25. The company is run mainly by volunteers, who employ theatre and education practitioners to direct productions, workshops and projects.
Our aim is to create an environment where young people feel comfortable and learn through positive experiences, constantly pushing the boundaries of youth theatre and always aiming to cover new and interesting ground.
There are currently over 300 PYT members between the ages of 8 and 25 yrs. In addition we run First Steps workshops for 65 children between the ages of 5 and 8 yrs.
Each year we organise termly workshops for all members, and an Easter Holiday Challenge and Summer Holiday activity for members and non members. Our Autumn Season runs for two weeks in September, with two major musical productions, and we also produce a Christmas show in December. PYT Productions have gained a reputation for outstanding production values, and performances are often sold out very quickly. All our activities take place in and around Petersfield.
